A more educated population improves the quality of life in a community through increased civic engagement, greater neighborhood safety and a healthy and vibrant democracy. In other words, education is a basic building block for a good life. A high quality, well-rounded education will lay the groundwork for students to understand that they can become a part of the change that they would like to see in the world, partially through the power of their talents, skills and choices.
