2018
School District of Lee County – Career Pipeline for Women in Health Care
The Career Pipeline for Women in Health Care program is a program focused on enrolling women in underserved and underemployed communities in health science education programs at the two Lee County technical colleges, Fort Myers Technical College, and Cape Coral Technical College. Women completing the program would earn valuable state licenses and industry certifications which guarantees them an interview at two local health employers, Lee Health, and Cypress Cove at Health Park. After being completely triaged for possible funding sources, this program provides gap funding for women entering these programs to ensure that any additional financial barriers to certification attainment are overcome, and they can enter the workforce with the skills they need for success. Over the next three years, the two schools will be able to show increased enrollment and completion rates, as well as employment placement with Lee Health and Cypress Cove to decrease openings of critical needs positions with Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) and Certified Medical Assistants (MA). The program will grow in the future to including program completers on the school advisory boards of the technical colleges to communicate the importance and critical effectiveness of this program.
The program is designed for women to enroll and complete their post-secondary education with a direct link to an in-demand job, and to furthermore have the potential to continue their career path in the health care system. The women in these communities will be empowered to provide a generational impact, for themselves and their families.
2017
- I WILL Mentorship Foundation – Visible Female Program – Visible Female -Girls Excelling in Math and Science (GEMS) project creates a biodirectional STEM mentorship pipeline of high school and middle school girls. GEMS provides 9 months of academic support, mentoring, and professional development for girls, who are traditionally underrepresented in Science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
2016
- Florida Gulf Coast University: GEMS – Girls in Engineering, Math and Science at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) mentors and inspires female FGCU students and middle school girls in SW Florida to pursue STEM careers by providing hands-on, inquiry driven STEM activities via expertise at Whitaker Center for STEM Education at FGCU.
2015
- Happehatchee Center (Human Services): The Working to Improve with Self Employment (WISE) Women program focuses on the San Carlos Park neighborhood of South Fort Myers and the Covered Wagon Trailer Park in Estero. Instructors from Happehatchee and the GRACE Project, as well as invited teachers and planned field trips, will provide health exams, employability skills, family planning and health, financial literacy, and access to transportation.
2014
- Literacy Council Gulf Coast (Education): Focus on helping women to improve literacy skills, focusing on reading, writing, speaking and understanding English. It will also assist women in improving their financial literacy knowledge by offering topics in basic financial literacy incorporated into typical classes, expand GED preparedness classes to help women advance to higher educational levels thus increasing their economic empowerment and independence, and offer regular informative sessions educating women on domestic violence and human trafficking issues to help break the cycle of abuse.

- FutureMakers (Education): A regional call to action to improve high school access for high school seniors through mentoring

- United Way/Children’s Home Soceity (Human Services) – Provide a partial salary for a Social Worker to provide services to men, women and children who are experiencing homelessness
