Update on Community Impact Grant Program 2020-2021

Dear Nonprofit Partners,

You all have been so committed to continuing your important work in our community. You have pivoted, innovated, and shown great compassion and empathy as you navigated the uncertainty of your organization and those you serve.

As the Southwest Florida Community Foundation continues to find ways to support your work, we have made the commitment to shift Community Impact grantmaking to multiyear, operational funding.

Our goal is to create regional change for the common good and we know granteeneed operational dollars over multiple years to sustain their organization and make greater impact.

Our next step to reaching this goal is extending our current 2020 Community Impact grantees an additional year of funding now and open our new grant program(s) in late 2021. We will continue to provide funding though our COVID Emergency Relief Fund, our Specialty Funds and work with our donors to distribute funds into the community.

In the coming year we will continue to offer Thrivability by Collaboratory programs designed to strengthen individuals and organizations so they can thrive in our region. We will focus our energy on enhancing our impact programs by using the lenses of equity and sustainability because we stand committed to ending systemic racism. That is our commitment to you.

We continue to listen and learn, and we encourage you to stay connected by taking part in the Thrivability program, Caffeinated Conversations, and our communications updates. This is also where you will learn about evolving grant opportunitiesupdates, and ways to work together.

Let’s connect and keep the conversations going as we shift our work because we want to continue to create regional change with you.

Keep up the great work
